What is an infographic?

An infographic is a mixture of text and image

The word infographics originated from: information graphics. So graphically creating information. More and more infographics are available, and not without reason: it makes the subject a lot clearer and more pronounced. By using a limited number of words, but with enough clear visual material, something is quickly made clear. A good infographic is able to make very complex processes or large amounts of data comprehensible and transparent. It is not only good for the (final) reader, but also the creator learns: it forces to think about the message and the structuring of information. More and more tools are also available to make nice infographics with little effort, for example look at Visual.ly.
