Obamacare is a health care reform law signed in 2010 by President Barack Obama
The Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) increases the quality, accessibility, and affordability of health insurance. In exchange, most people who can afford to must Obtain Health Coverage or pay a per-month fee. The law eliminates some major problems under which the following:
- It doesn’t allow insurance companies to deny coverage or raise costs for pre-existing conditions.
- Insurance companies are no longer allowed to drop people from their insurance when they are sick.
- It protects against gender discrimination.
- It expands free preventative services and health benefits.
- Larger employers have to insure their employees.
- It lowers healthcare spending.
Opponents of Obamacare fear the cost of healthcare will rise due to this law. Donald Trump has plans to do another healthcare reform when he becomes president.
