First aid means emergency accidents
It is aid (and general assistance) provided by laymen, awaiting expert assistance. The aim of the aid is to prevent further imminent danger (first aid is to do what is possible until expert assistance can be provided). The first aid was born in 1877 in England, ten years later, more than 100,000 people had a first aid diploma. After some time it was blowing over to the Netherlands, but there was resistance from doctors who felt that medical training was needed to provide medical assistance. At the beginning of the 20th century, the aid provided by first-aid workers was not good because the many different associations did not work well. In 1951, a national unit diploma arose, and now more than 300,000 people are in possession of this first aid diploma. Worldwide, the Red Cross provides training and courses but also other organization, the level of education varies among themselves, depending on the need in a particular area.
