HBD means retail business
The HBD is strongly committed to a healthy retail business with good entrepreneurship. A healthy retail trade is good for the entire Dutch society: the retail trade is essential for distributing goods to consumers. The retail trade is the largest employer of the country. Every retail trade is obliged to join the HBD, which is regulated by the Law on the Company organization. Because everyone is obliged to stay connected, the cost per company remains low and no one benefits without paying. In the HBD, entrepreneurs and workers ' organisations work closely together in the interests of the sector. The HBD ceased operations at the end of 2013. In 2014, the administrative and legal settlement followed.
