CES means consumer Electronics Show
The CES is a major technology fair held since 1967 each year at the Las Vegas Convention Center. At CES, manufacturers show their new products (both hardware and software) to the press and the general public. Often it is also prototypes that are only available to consumers a few years later. In any case, the CES is a gauge of what will happen in the coming years in the electronics field. Past products that were shown for the first time at CES include: The video recorder, the compact disc, the Commodore64, Tetris, DVD, the X-box and the HDTV.
