Animal Day is World Animal Day
Every year on 4 October it is (world) animal Day and it is a moment that many (house) animals get extra attention. The day has been officially declared animal day by the International Animal Protection (in 1930 in the Netherlands) and is not only for pets (but that is the one where most people do something extra). It became October 4 because it was the anniversary of a saint (Francis of Assisi) who attracted the fate of the poor, plants and animals. On 5 October, the animal protection will seek attention for all animals that have been forgotten on 4 October.
