ABS means antilock braking system

ABS (or ABS system) is an electronically regulated system that pumping RMT. This prevents the wheels from blocking when there is strong braking. The system was marketed by R. Bosch at the end of the years 70. Detects a sensor in the wheels when a wheel threatens to block, when it occurs, the ABS system briefly removes the braking power (and restored when the lock is lifted). When the ABS takes over it the driver can experience this as vibrating of the brake pedal, important is that the driver does not react here wrongly. Most new cars are now equipped with ABS. The thought is often that ABS reduced the stopping distance, however, this is not correct. However, it guarantees that the driver will keep the control.
