What does deprecated mean?

Deprecated means abolished

Deprecated is a word that is mainly used in programming languages, and it actually means that a particular function is too old, and is no longer supported. Think of the IPod (the original) for example. This original iPod is deprecated because it is hopelessly obsolete and no longer to buy, there are already 4 or 5 newer versions so that old, 1st version is deprecated.
