What does EPG mean?

EPG means Electronic program Guide

With an EPG it is possible to display data about programs (time, small summary, main players, etc) on the screen. EPG is often offered to people who receive digital television. Ultimately, it is a piece of software that retrieves and displays information. The software ultimately determines what information is visible, in combination with a DVR is also possible to quickly and easily (press the button) the DVR to set the program to automatically record. The advantage is that EPG is realtime, last minute changes can be taken as a result (unlike a classic TV guide that is printed weeks in advance).
