GOVI means limitless public transport information
GOVI is an organization of almost all provinces and city regions with the aim to bundle up-to-date travel information and pass through nationwide Standaardds to parties that inform travelers. The idea is that information from buses, trams, subways and ferries come bundled in at a stop screens, or an app on a smartphone. A traveller sees not only the fixed, static travel information (the scheduled timetable) but the actual departure times of the carriers. The current information takes away the uncertainty about the waiting time, which makes public transport more attractive. GOVI is an initiative of governments and has started in 2006 in the municipality of Alkmaar.
