What does MOSFET mean?

Mosfet means Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor

A MOSFET is a transistor that is made up of three layers: metal, Oxide and semiconductor. The difference with a normal transistor is that they are sent in and that a (MOS) FET is spanningsgestuurd. A FET is very suitable for switching, and is therefore often used in power supplies.
