The HUE products are LED lamps where you can adjust the lighting experience to your liking. You buy a starterkit with three LED lamps and a module that can be hung on a router or PC. This module allows you to set the colour of each LED lamp individually. The HUE illumination is dimmable, can be set via timers and also has the ability to radiate bright white light. With the official app you can control the lights, but in the future an SDK will also be offered. The lamps have a normal fitting so you can simply replace your current bulbs, there are also plans for spot lights and smaller fittings. The app also has the ability to create a profile, so that with 1 click you can provide your living room with romantic light, or business light.
