What is a coalition?

A coalition is a joint venture

A coalition is mainly used in politics and is therefore a covenant between different parties. In The second chamber it is necessary to have a majority in order to function properly, as there are many parties in the Netherlands, it usually comes down to a coalition being formed to reach this majority. In that case, we are talking about a majority coalition, it is also possible to form a minority coalition (this is common in Scandinavian countries). A problem with a coalition government/Coalition cabinet is that it can be inefficient because one often deviates from the views to be able to work together.
