National Science Fiction Day is celebrated on the 2nd of January in the US, a date that was chosen to correspond with the official birthdate of famed science fiction writer Isaac Asimov. While it is not an official holiday of any sort, National Science Fiction Day is given some degree of credence by its recognition by organisations such as the Hallmark Channel and the Scholastic Corporation.
