What is a food allergy?

A food allergy can be life threatening but most people have less deadly reactions to certain types of food. Generally speaking you can say that a food allergy is a reaction of your body’s immune system to a certain food (or most likely: an ingredient of that type of food)

The last couple of years more and more people seem to have a reaction to food: peanut allergies, gluten, etc. Symptoms can be very different but most common reactions are an itchy feeling in your mouth, throat or even ears, a (red) rash somewhere on your body or swelling of parts of the face (eyes, lips, tongue or roof of the mouth usually).

Luckily, today there are lots of tests available for you to take at home. No need to get a doctor’s appointment, be on a waitinglist or other things that make you want to stop your quest before you even started. Take a look at the site of Test My Allergy and see what they can do for your. Just order a test and see if you have a food intolerance or sensitivity so you know what to avoid in your diet.
