SWOV means foundation for scientific research on road safety
The SWOV is the National Institute for Verkeersveiligheidonderzoek. The mission of the SWOV is to contribute with knowledge from (scientific) research to the improvement of road safety. The SWOV is independent and the knowledge is public and is made available to anyone who is professionally engaged in traffic and road safety in the Netherlands. The SWOV is recognized as an authoritative institution in the Netherlands and abroad (thanks to the high-quality research they perform).
