IBM is also known as Big Blue (a large company with a blue logo) and has become known for the first IBM Personal Computer (the 1st PC). The name IBM has been in existence since 1924 and has started selling calculating machines and office supplies. IBM is now a large IT company with more than 400,000 employees worldwide and a turnover of more than 100 billion. IBM is active in more than 150 countries and has for many years been the largest number of patents (through investment in research). IBM deals with many IT related issues: software, hardware, maintenance, consultancy, outsouring, education, etc. IBM is a global company operating as a large company, with international divisions and divisions.
