What does GMP mean?

GMP means Good manufacturing practices

In Dutch, GMP means actually good ways of producing. It is a term that is widely known within the pharmaceutical industry, but also within the food industry, GMP is a common concept. GMP are the rules according to which pharmaceuticals, food and cosmetic production companies must produce their products. The rules ensure that the medicines and foods that are made are safe and effective. The rules are laid down in European legislation and in US legislation and are controlled by public authorities. In the Netherlands this is the IGZ. GMP is also sometimes referred to as Great Mass or Paper, since everything has to be recorded (so that everything is traceable).
