What does UPC mean?

UPC means United Pan-European Communications

UPC is a provider of digital television, broadband Internet, cable television and telephony services. UPC is a subsidiary of Liberty Global Inc. and provides approximately 2 million households with Internet, telephony and/or television. At the beginning, UPC stood for United Philips cable, and it was created by the purchase of companies. Due to the rapid growth and the bursting of the internet bubble, the company came into trouble, which have now been resolved. At the end of 2012, a new product of UPC came on the market: Horizon. This was a device that combined modem, digital receiver and Mediabox and could therefore provide additional functionalities. Meanwhile, the name UPC is an established concept and you cannot really speak of an abbreviation.
