AEX means Amsterdam Exchange Index
The AEX is the most important Dutch stock market index, and reflects the price development of the 25 most traded shares on the Amsterdam stock Exchange. The value of these shares will be added together and divided by 100 (resulting in the AEX index). The aandelenomzeet in the preceding is decisive for the inclusion in the AEX-index. The AEX index is also called the stock market Barometer: it is an indication of the mood on the stock Exchange (which is another indication of the global economy).
