BP is a petroleum company headquartered in London and is one of the major oil companies in the world (Shell and ExxonMobil are the other major). By merging in 1998 (with American Oil Company, Amoco) The current meaning of BP is actually: Beyond Petroleum. In the Netherlands, most employees of BP are people in marketing and employees in the refinery.
