What does H&M mean?

H&M means Hennes & Mauritz

Hennes & Mauritz is a Swedish fashion chain with branches in more than 40 countries. H&M is best known for his fashion-conscious clothing at an attractive price. The speed with which the clothing is produced is an important secret to the success of H&M. At other stores it can take 6 to 9 months before a new collection is in stores: at H&M it is usually 3 to 6 weeks. In order to keep costs down, most clothing is made in Asian countries but does not do so under poor working conditions. In 2004, H&M signed an agreement to guarantee the rights of employees. Cheap (design) clothing from famous designers sounds impossible, but H&M makes it true. H&M uses many fashion designers such as Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld, Elio Fiorucci, Roberto Cavalli and Viktor & Rolf.
