Pokémon is a Nintendo game which has been marketed in 1995. It was then a role playing game (RPG) on the game Boy in which you brought two game Boys in connection. By now it is (after Mario) the most successful game franchise. It is so big that there are not only different games and card games, but also films, a television series and even a magazine. Pokémon are beasts that share the world with people. It's your job as a player to catch all the Pokemons (the pronunciation: Gotta catch ' em all! comes from here). Each pokemon has its own fighting specialties and they come in all shapes and sizes. You can train your pokemon to get better.
