What is LinkedIn?

LinkedIn is a social network

LinkedIn was founded in 2003 and now has over 250 million users. In 2007, LinkedIn was the fastest growing social network in the United States with a growth of 189%. LinkedIn has the main goal of letting users make use of each other's network. A network is made up of your (direct) contacts, and the relationships of contacts. The network is intended to find a new job or new business opportunities, through the recommendations of your own network. LinkedIn can be used to keep in touch with former colleagues, or to ask those old acquaintances with their expertise: they are people you know and give the answers you can trust.
