What does VSO mean?

VSO means continued special education

The VSO education is especially for young people with disorder or disability. The VSO schools are there in 4 types (also called clusters):

  1. Blind and visually impaired youngsters
  2. Deaf or hearing impaired youngsters (also for youngsters with a language Spraakprobleem).
  3. Young people with intellectual or physical disability.
  4. Young people with psychiatric or behavioural problems.

Within the VSO it is possible to follow the practice stream, this is for pupils who are difficult to learn. It is a trajectory for young people who are unable to obtain a diploma at the level of the secondary school.
