CMO means Contract manufacturing organization
CMO is also sometimes called CDMO: Contract Development and manufacturing Organization. It is an organization in the (often) pharmaceutical industry and is a form of outsourcing. The CMO company can do everything under the contract: developing a medicine, or actually producing it, determining the stability, etc.
