What does Wmo mean?

WMO means social support act

The WMO applies as of 1 January 2007 and ensures that everyone can continue to live independently for as long as possible. The law is a replacement of the welfare Law and the WVG (Law provisions disabled) and certain sections of the General Law special Health costs (AWBZ). The municipality determines whether an individual qualifies for WMO support, and each municipality has its own terms and conditions. Here are some examples of help and facilities covered by the WMO:

  • Help in the household
  • Modifications to the House (stair lift, raised toilet, etc.)
  • Transport facilities
  • Educating aid
  • Meal Care
  • Social care (stay-of-my-home, homeless shelter)

More information can be found on the website of the ministry.
