What are Gruitdagen?

Gruitdagen are vegetables and fruit days

There is a European information programme that pays attention to eating enough fruit and vegetables. There is also an EU School Fruit programme which allows schools to participate in the information. The core of the program is the joint eating of fruit and vegetables in the classroom: Also called ' Gruiten '. On a fixed day (or several days) in the week for a period of several weeks, the children will be given joint food or vegetables. The European Union wants to raise awareness among children so that there is not so much more to do with cake or a fatty bite in the break. For the school and the parents there are no costs associated with this gruitdagen. More about the Gruiten can be read on the website.
