What does Amigurumi mean?

Amigurumi is the Japanese term for small crochet or knitted dolls. Usually the critters or dolls that appeal to children, they are meant to play with or use as a keychain. Normally a small crochet hook is used and yarn is applied. Often the body and head are made of 1 piece, other pieces (limbs, hat, etc.) are usually crocheted separately and later attached to the body. The hugs often have a big head and a small body.
