The big register is a task that derives from the big act, and provides clarity about the competence of a health care provider. Anyone can consult the big-register (search the big-register), and more than 400,000 health care providers have been registered in the big register. A BIG registration gives clarity about the competences of a health care provider, in addition, the BRIC as an implementation organisation of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport also makes statements of professional competence a caregivers with a Foreign diploma. Healthcare providers who wish to practise their profession in the Netherlands must comply with the Dutch training requirements, the combination of (relevant) work experience and training must be equal to a Dutch healthcare provider, such a statement can be issued .
