DMT means three minutes Test
The three minute test is a test to determine the reading tempo and the technical reading level of a child. You have to read as many words in 1 minute of a card with single words and that 3 times with different cards. The DMT is taken twice a year in Group 3 through 7. Good reading skills are important for reading comprehension, with DMT to determine how a child's reading skills are, and whether reading problems are visible. From 2012 onwards, there is a newer version, where the standardisation has become more stringent, and that the moment of the test takes place earlier in the year.
