What does caricature mean?

A caricature is a humorous performance

A caricature is a humorous representation of a person in which the most characteristic traits are strongly exaggerated. A caricature is usually intended as amusement, but can also be interpreted as an insult. When someone is not so happy with an exaggerated characteristic, the humor can quickly disappear. Most people know caricatures of holidays or on a braderie where there is a cartoonist who makes a caricature of you. But also in the theatre are types (caricature persons), situations or behaviors used. In the media, caricatures are mainly used by well-known (international) politicians.
