What does SSD mean?

SSD means Solid State Drive

Besides solid state Drive is also called Solid state Disk and it works just like a memory card of your phone or digital camera. An SSD has no mechanical parts making them faster, quieter and more reliable than a normal hard drive. The storage capacity of an SSD is made up of several chips, which consist of billions of transistors (cells). How the cells are controlled determines the type of SSD: Single level cell (SLC), multilevel cell (MLC) or triple level cell (TLC).
